INSTALLATION GUIDE
- WEAR SURGICAL GLOVES OR CLEAN FINGERS BEFORE PRESSING LEDS IN PLACE otherwise dirt or paint etc on the LED lens will affect the light appearance and colour. PREFERABLY USE OUR INSTALL TOOL - Cat Number IT. Do not press down onto the tape or small resistors with a sharp tool such as a screwdriver as this will damage the tape circuit board and some LEDs won’t light up.
- The LED strip has a self-adhesive backing and WITH MOST LED STRIPS A PROFILE MUST BE USED TO COMPLY WITH THE WARRANTY. If not using a profile, you may need an additional type of adhesion to keep the LED strip securely fixed for long periods, as we cannot guarantee the self-adhesive backing will adhere to different types of surfaces.
- ONLY CUT THE LED STRIP ON THE COPPER OR SOLDERED CUT MARKS, otherwise the whole section of LEDs within that area will not light up. Please refer to the website for cut mark spacing information.
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO PULL HARD ON THE INPUT LEADS as you may pull the input cable off the soldered pad on the tape circuit board (found underneath the heat shrink]. This will stop the whole tape from lighting up.
- ALWAYS USE ALUMINIUM PROFILE FOR A HIGH-QUALITY INSTALLATION. On high powered LED strips 16 watt and above, profile must be used for heat dissipation to avoid overheating and prolong the life of the LEDs.
- IT IS ADVISABLE to power up the LED strips before installation for reassurance, especially if a third party is installing them on your behalf. We do thoroughly test all cut lengths before dispatch, but damage during installation is possible.
- IF CUTTING IP67 LED strip make sure it is resealed to prevent water ingress and LED failure.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
LED STRIP WON'T LIGHT UP
Check output on the driver. Check all junction box connections. Check input lead connection under heat shrink has not been pulled off.
LED STRIP LIGHT COLOURING OR BRIGHTNESS VARIES ALONG THE LED STRIP
There could be paint or another substance on the lens of the LEDS. Switch the LEDS off and look closely at the lens, clean off lens
The LED strip may have lifted so the light is shining at different angles causing colour to vary along the LED strip.
If adding LED strip to an existing installation and the colour varies from existing to new LED, it will be due to a different batch colour variance.
LED STRIP NOT WORKING IN PLACES
If the fault is at the end its likely the LED strip has been cut in the wrong place and not across the cut marks.
If the fault is anywhere else the LED strip may have been damaged during installation due to using a sharp tool to press the LEDS down or similar.
The LED strip may have developed a manufacturers fault however, this is unlikely if its a made to measure cut length, as these are fully tested before sending out.
BRIGHTNESS REDUCES ALONG THE LED STRIP
You have most likely got voltdrop as you have exceeded the limits of the LED strip. This may be due to wiring or daisy chaining a number of LED strips in series. Please contact us for guidance.
USING RF CONTROLS
LED STRIPS LIGHT UP WITH A SINGLE COLOUR BUT THE REMOTE/WALL CONTROLLER WON'T WORK
Make sure the batteries in the remote are new as used batteries can cause issues.
The device needs to be paired -See the website for instructions and videos.
IF USING THE WB5 RECEIVER
This unit can be used with different LED strips ,so the pilot light set button on the front must be set to the correct colour to match the LED strip used.
Single colour = white CCT = yellow RGB = Red RGBW = Green RGBCCT = Blue
IF LED DOES NOT LIGHT UP AND HAS BLACK SPOTS IN THE CENTRE OF THE LED CHIP
The LED chips have been blown by incorrect wiring . Usually by wiring directly to mains 240v without using a driver.
